Lunar Pictures is an award-winning independent production company based in Ireland, owned and run by accomplished producer Niamh Fagan. Lunar is interested in moving and entertaining stories that can be told in imaginative and innovative ways. Lunar develops and produces fiction film, documentary film, and television drama.
Lunar’s recent production, Shooting the Mafia, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kim Longinotto, had its US premiere at the Sundance World Cinema Documentary Competition and European premiere at the Berlinale Panorama, where it won an audience award for Best Documentary.
Shooting the Mafia, an official selection of; CHP:DOX, Hot Docs, IDFA, BFI London, DocAviv, Sydney, Melbourne & New Zealand Film Festivals amongst others, has also won the audience award for an International Film at Brussels Film Festival 2019.
Shooting the Mafia had its theatrical release autumn/winter 2019.

Lunar develops feature film, documentary and television projects with Irish and international writers and directors.
Lunar Pictures can access Ireland's Film and Television tax relief - Section 481. Niamh is always happy to discuss simpatico co-productions that might benefit from Section 481 funding. Additionally, Lunar Pictures is located within the WRAP region of Ireland, (Western Regional Audiovisual Producers Fund) which provides funding to encourage filming in the West of Ireland.
